Rules & Guidelines
Social Interactions:
Ensuring a friendly chat is super important at RiftLand, where we want everyone, no matter their age, to feel welcome. Below are examples of things you should avoid in chat. These rules apply to Minecraft chat, Discord chat, signs, books, holograms, renamed items, and letters that are built with blocks.
1. Disrespectful & Inappropriate Behavior:
Everyone at RiftLand deserves a drama-free and respectful time. Being passive aggressive or generally creating a negative atmosphere will be handed a warning, followed up by revoked chat privileges.
2. Inappropriate Language & Discussion:
Be respectful—refrain from using inappropriate language and avoid discussing controversial topics like politics, religion, race, and other sensitive subjects that may not be suitable for everyone.
3. Spamming:
Avoid spamming: do not repeat your messages unless a few minutes have passed if your question may have been missed. Also, avoid asking for countdowns or sharing song lyrics that could disrupt the chat. Furthermore, refrain from using lengthy and spammy item names in the Minecraft chat.
If you have a shop, you can advertise your shop a maximum of 1 time every 10 minutes. However, if someone asks about a certain item that you're selling, you ARE allowed to mention your shop. The idea of a shop-advert is something like: "Hello everyone! Come to my shop at X location in the market, I sell Y and Z!" and such.
4. Sharing Others' Information:
Be respectful and don't share secrets or make jokes about private things. This also means not trying to trick others into sharing their personal info. It's important to create a safe and trusting space for everyone.
5. Advertising & Promotion:
No advertising for other websites, servers, or things not related to Riftland. It's okay to promote Riftland things, but remember to avoid spamming.
6. Threats & Harm Encouragement:
Don't say things that might hurt or threaten others—even if you think it's a joke. Do not encourage others to hurt themselves in real life.
Game Behavior:
All users on Riftland are held to an equal standard. Our aim is to provide an enjoyable experience for all players, and individuals who are found to deliberately ruin another person's enjoyment on the server will face appropriate consequences.
1. Griefing & Trolling:
Respect Others' Builds - Having fun is important, but remember that your fun shouldn't come at the expense of others. Please follow these guidelines when building:
Be Considerate: Only claim areas you're actively using. Unused claims can block out valuable space, if you're not using it, let it remain unclaimed.
Respect Boundaries: Do not interfere with or alter someone else's build or area unless you have explicit permission.
End Portal Access Policy
No Blocking: Do not block the End Portal with claims that prevent access.
Claiming Allowed: You may claim the area and even build a base around the portal.
Public Access Required: If you do claim it, you must keep the entrance to the End Portal open and accessible to the public at all times.
Proximity Awareness Guidelines
Maintain Distance: Ensure a minimum of 100 blocks of space between your builds and other players' homes.
Avoid Disruption: If your build is large or disruptive near someone else’s property, you may be asked to remove it.
No Trolling: Intentionally building near another player's location just to block their use is considered trolling.
Case-by-Case Review: Each situation will be reviewed individually by staff to ensure fair treatment.
Compliance: Failure to comply with removal requests may result in your property being wiped by staff.
2. Stealing & Scamming:
Taking items from other players without permission is not allowed. Actively participating in sales or trades with the intent to withhold agreed-upon items is not allowed and will be met with consequences.
3. Inappropriate Names, Skins, Items & Builds:
Inappropriate names: You will be asked by a staff member to change it. If you cannot change it until a certain date, you will be restricted from joining the server until that date. Inappropriate names are also against Mojang's terms of service which can get your Minecraft account banned.
Inappropriate skins: You will be asked by a staff member to change it, failing to do so will lead to a ban.
Inappropriate items: Renaming items to something that you wouldn't be able to say in the chat is not allowed.
Inappropriate builds: Building builds that include things such as (but not limited to): anti-semitism, racism, sexism, nudity, hateful, is prohibited. This will lead to a ban without warning.
4. Lying & Misleading:
When making a report, it is crucial you do not falsify proof or lie to the staff members. If you are found trying to get someone wrongly punished with false reports, will lead to a temporary ban and revoked reporting abilities.
5. Killing/Trapping/PVP:
When you want to fight, trap, or overall kill people, you are not allowed to do it without consent.
6. ALT Accounts:
ONE alt account is allowed with specific conditions:
1) AFK Farming Only: The alt account is strictly for AFK farming and cannot be used for other activities.
2) No Rewards or Storage: The alt account must not claim any rewards or serve as storage.
3) Limited Gameplay: The alt account should not be used as a regular account—for example, it cannot engage in exploring, pvp, looting, etc.
4) Linked Bans: If the alt account is banned, the corresponding main account will also be banned.
5) Staff Declaration: The alt account must be declared to staff to prevent it from being flagged by the system.
7. Cheating & Exploiting:
This server is designed for a casual and fun experience—cheating is unnecessary and not tolerated. Any player found using disallowed modifications or exploits will be banned.
7.1 Cheating:
Unfair Advantage Prohibited: Mods or scripts that provide an unfair advantage over other players are not allowed.
Allowed vs. Disallowed Mods: Below is a list detailing which modifications are permitted and which are disallowed.
Allowed:
Optifine, Sodium, Lithium, Phosphor, (Most FPS boosters).
Gameplay recorders and free-cam mod.
All cosmetic mods (Cosmetica, Essentials, Decorative mods).
All HUD/UI mods.
All sound mods.
Minimap mods.
Litematica is allowed, but EasyPlace/AirPlace will not work!
Disallowed:
Any mod, script, or macro that automates in-game actions is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
Automated Tasks: Programs that perform actions such as digging, moving, talking, jumping, auto-aim, auto-crit, or chest-sorting (chest-sorting is especially risky, as it may delete items from your inventory). We have a very strong anti-cheat, however we still need to declare the rules.
Xray and Resource Mods: Xray mods, scripts, resource packs, or texture packs designed to reveal hidden features are disallowed. Although our anti-xray system helps prevent their use, this rule remains in effect. We have anti-xray installed, but we still need to declare the rules.
Your Mods, Your Responsibility
When using mods, it is your responsibility to ensure they are:
Safe – Free from malware or harmful software.
Transparent – Do not run unintended scripts or perform malicious actions.
Compliant – Do not violate server rules regarding disallowed modifications.
7.2 Exploiting:
Using exploits such as unintended server bugs or duplication methods is not allowed. If you find a game-breaking issue, report it to a staff right away.
8. Overly Heavy Farms and Machines:
Crop-Farms using Villagers: This is limited to 16 per base. Any that are found to be above that, will be taken by the FRI. It only counts active crop farmers. This does NOT include Villager trading halls.
Heavy redstone machines. Most redstone machines are fine, but if anyone is found to maliciously make one to lag the server, will be destroyed without warning.
